Aikido is a relatively new Japanese martial art, having been developed by Morihei Ueshiba in the 20th century. Adaptive
Perception is a privately funded research group investigating
human-machine interaction. Their first project is the use of
motion capture technology to document, preserve, and analyze
the art of senior Aikido instructors.
An element of Adaptive Perception's research includes tracing
the paths of key body points to highlight movement patterns
fundamental to Aikido, and portraying
calculated movement acceleration in a color scale.
Avatar Mocap Studios is proud to be the motion capture studio
of choice for this cutting-edge research in the exploration,
preservation and visualization of Aikido. |
