We can modify mocap data by making corrections or modifications to
rotational aspects of the moving skeleton and interpolating through
the data points.
Motion
editing allows manipulation of some angles of the body and smooths
transitions between trials joined by interpolation. It provides
for multiple blends to be put into a repeatable sequential file.
For example, a single gait cycle could be blended with itself to
create an endless walk.
Characters
can be time-shifted to hit a given mark at a given time or multiple
characters can be made to interact by independently and simultaneously
altering their motion.
